Governance Top 100 Winner 2020

We are proud to announce the Winner for Governance Top 100 for 2020

Fran Finucan, the Company Secretary of ASX-listed Collins Foods Limited (ASX:CKF), has been named the inaugural 2020 winner of Governance Top 100 which was launched this year by 3YS Owls Governance Consultants.

Ms Finucan was chosen from an elite field of corporate governance professionals across a range of ASX-listed companies, not-for-profit groups, government organisations and private companies. Entrants represented large and small entities from various industry sectors including banking and financial services, superannuation, insurance, agriculture, aviation, airports, surf lifesaving, retail, food and beverage, mining, local city councils, property, technology, fintech, energy, resources and infrastructure.

As part of her submission to Governance Top 100 Ms Finucan said: “Good governance looks effortless and often underestimated.” She identified the award as an important initiative in acknowledging to the broader business community the vital work undertaken by her peers in the industry.

Ainslie Cunningham, co-founder and director of 3YS Owls, said the judging panel was impressed by the calibre of the nominees who participated in Governance Top 100 and the quality of their governance initiatives despite the unprecedented challenges they faced.

There are amazing governance professionals driving change in their organisations every day, and this award truly emphasises the value and benefit that robust governance frameworks and the individuals that are responsible for driving these initiatives bring to an organisation.“ Governance as a profession is ever evolving and is made up of individuals from a variety of professional backgrounds. As passionate governance professionals ourselves, we are thrilled to be able to shine a light on the governance leaders of the future.

The judging panel for Governance Top 100 received nominations from governance professionals across Australia.

The event encouraged both peer and self-nominations, which proved difficult for those self-nominating as we were faced with people feeling like they were not worthy of nominating, but they were very much deserving of recognition. We have received an overwhelming response of gratitude from the nominees and support from their peers and organisations for launching this initiative.
